Happy Thanksgiving!
Another thing I am thankful for is that my post “Motherless Child” is on Mamapedia today! I know many of you have left me comments on this one before, and it was your encouragement that led me to submit it for others to read.
If you get a chance today between eating turkey and watching football, click over here and leave me a comment!

Hello and Happy Thanksgiving! I just read your post on Mamapedia and I can’t forget your story. My thoughts: great idea getting some alone time with Gerry! Also, do you think, by having the special needs kids in his class, he is not only getting an up-close and personal look at how SN kids function in the classroom setting, but also how his peers interact with/tolerate these children. Also, since he excels in this setting, the extra interruptions are probably exhaustng for your little bookworm. But seeing his classmates possibly be rude/untolerant may make him worried about how Howie will be treated. Bad examples by friends on how to react to SN kids just suck, but I believe your one on one time will really go far in pulling him back to your family. Happy holidays and good luck!

Great thoughts! You’ve made me think a bit about what else could be going on in his classroom. I have a parent-teacher conference coming up, so I’ll ask his teacher all of that. Thank you for coming over here from Mamapedia! I appreciate it!

Just read your post on Mamapedia, I to have a son with some spectrum disorders and he is also blind. He is now 6 years old. My 2nd son is now 2 and smart beyond his years. I completely get your situation. My blind son takes up so much of my time, that my great 2 year old does so much on his own. Thank you for reminding me of the Bigger picture. Have a wonderful Holiday.

Thank you for taking the time to click over here! It’s hard when we have so much on our plate with one of our kids, isn’t it? I’m sure you’re doing an amazing job with both your kids. It all works out.
